Scholars under Civic Village programme visit BMC

THIRTY-NINE scholars undertaking the Brunei Darussalam Undergraduates Civic Village programme visited the Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd (BMC) yesterday.

According to a press release obtained from BMC, the visit was aimed for the students to gain experience and insights shared by the company relevant to the technical and engineering programmes available in the sultanate.

Participants of the programme consisted of undergraduates from the scholarship division under the Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB) and the Sultan’s Scholar from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

The visit started with the recital of the Surah Al-Fatihah and a safety briefing.

This was then followed by a viewing of BMC’s corporate video and a presentation on the company’s profile and the methanol process which were delivered by Adriana Agus Din, BMC’s stakeholder relations officer, and Asnawi Hj Mohamad, BMC’s training operation instructor.

The delegation then toured the facility’s compound led by BMC’s operation engineers.

Also joining the delegation were seven officials from the Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office.
