MoE cites improved O-level results

THIRTY-TWO per cent of candidates in the June 2015 examinations for the GCE O-level obtained at least three credits – an improvement of 2.5 per cent from June 2014, the Ministry of Education (MoE) said yesterday.
The MoE released results of the O, A and AS exams yesterday, giving the breakdown of statistics.
Of the 2,244 candidates who sat for the O-level exams, 724 or 32 per cent achieved at least three credits. Fourteen per cent (334 candidates) obtained at least four credits, while 6.6 per cent (150 candidates) achieved five or more credits.
Just 0.69 per cent of O-level candidates achieved eight or more credits.
Of the 2,032 candidates in the GCE AS-level exams, 88 per cent obtained at least one credit while 70 per cent achieved at least two credits.
Of the 356 candidates who sat for the A-level exams, 62 per cent obtained at least one credit while 24 per cent achieved at least two credits.
The MoE said students can obtain their results slip from their respective schools, while private candidates can collect their slips from the Department of Examinations during working hours.
