THE Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) yesterday celebrated a Hari Raya Aidil Fitri event at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

More than 500 staff and officers turned up for the event with the Minister of Industry and Primary Resources Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Hj Yahya Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar attending as the guest honour.

Also present during the event were the MIPR permanent secretary and its deputy together with respective spouses.

This year’s MIPR Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration was jointly organised by the Fisheries Department, Agrifood Security Unit, Biosecurity Unit and the Primary Resource Research and Development Centre.

The theme is set in the 1960s and 1970s on how that the people back then celebrate the festive season. The celebration was held as part of strengthening relations within the ministry.

During the celebrations, guests were treated to video presentation from 2014’s Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration at the ministry, a short skits competition and a meet and greet session with the minister.

A total of eight groups consisting of agencies under the MIPR participated in the Hari Raya short comedy sketch which was aimed to give opportunity for the officers and staff in exercising their creativity and to foster team-building in bringing their performance to a success.

The sketches were judged based on the singing, the acting, creativity in the script and on-stage costumes.

The MIPR minister would later present the prizes to the winners of the comedy sketch.
