Over 240 register for HM’s 69th birthday celebration media coverage

MORE than 240 media representatives comprising freelance photographers, bloggers and accredited media agencies will be covering the upcoming 69th birthday celebrations of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzadin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on August 15.

Representatives of the media yesterday attended a briefing organised by the Information Department facilitated by the Head of Media Services Unit, Muhd Khairulhadi Hj Muhd Muhtaddir.

The briefing aimed at ensuring the safety and smooth running of operations for the celebration.

Muhd Khairulhadi emphasised on the procedures and regulations to be adhered to by all media representatives.

He added the media accreditation passes will act as identification tags during the big day and stressed that those without valid passes will not be allowed on the field.

He also reminded the media representatives to always keep their belongings with them at all times as unattended bags will be considered a threat to public safety and will be confiscated.

The birthday parade will be held at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien on Saturday (August 15), followed by the investiture ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman.

Meanwhile, the Ramah Mesra or Get-Together ceremony will first be held in Tutong on August 18 (Tuesday) at the open field at the Tutong Community Hall. This will be followed by Temburong on August 20. The celebration in Temburong will take place at the open field of the Temburong Community Hall.

The celebration will then move on to Belait on August 22, set to take place at the Kuala Belait Municipal Field. The celebration will culminate at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien on August 23.
