FOUR employees from the Ministry of Development in Tutong and Belait districts received donations yesterday in conjunction with the ministry’s Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration.

The events took place at the Community Hall of Kampung Bukit Beruang in Tutong and at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Kuala Belait Recreational Park in Belait.

On hand to present the donations at both events was the Minister of Development Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi Hj Osman.

The contribution was made in the form of daily necessities and monetary donation.

Recipients of the Hari Raya donation in the Belait District were Sabirin Abdullah Ambi, a night guard from Jabatan Kerja Raya Belait and Ali Mahani, a labourer from Survey Department in Belait.

In Tutong, the first recipient, a labourer from the Tutong Survey Department, Roslan Abd Malik Bujing, told The Brunei Times that it was the first time for him to receive donations from the ministry and felt grateful for the contributions.

The 45-year-old father of five said that he will use the contribution wisely.

The other recipient, Nurhazimah Gambar, a clerk at the Tutong Land Department, thanked the ministry as well as her superior — Bilkis Sa’ar, Land Officer — for the donations.
