Lumut Politeknik opens with orientation day
BELAIT
POLITEKNIK Brunei’s School of Science and Engineering held an orientation day yesterday for students beginning their studies in the 2015/2015 academic year.
During the event held at the institute’s Lumut campus, Assistant Director of Politeknik Brunei, Alias Hj Abu Bakar, urged students to have a positive attitude and to stay focused on their studies.
Students’ efforts will go towards making Politeknik Brunei a reputable school that produces innovative, skilful and marketable graduates, he said.
The School of Science and Engineering offers a number of diploma programmes in the areas of engineering, science and technology, interior design and architecture.
The orientation day was filled with activities to help new students familiarise themselves with campus life, as well as other team-building and ice-breaking sessions.
Sharifah Nurulsabrina Sa’adiah Hj Malai Muhd Rafaee, a new student undertaking a diploma in well engineering, said she was excited to begin her tertiary studies.
“Alhamdulillah, being given the opportunity to further my future and career by completing a diploma in well engineering at Politeknik Brunei will help me achieve my goals and boost my confidence to aim higher.”
Another student, Nurul Aidawati Alizam, added that the school offered a practical hands-on education.
“The programmes offered are relevant to what industry is seeking from Politeknik Brunei’s graduates.
“This programme will provide me with a range of skills and knowledge.”
