280 road accidents in July

A TOTAL of 280 road accidents were reported in the month of July, including three fatalities, police said in a statement yesterday.
The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said 579 traffic offences were also recorded during the 40 traffic operations conducted by the Traffic Control and Investigation Department (JSKLL) last month.
Of the total number, the department in Gadong recorded 385 cases from 25 traffic operations, while JSKLL in Cawangan Batu 3 in Belait district recorded 194 cases from 15 traffic operations.
The press release did not state the top traffic offence last month.
The police urged road users to always obey the country’s traffic rules and regulations in addition to constantly improve safety and remain alert when on the roads, especially in bad weather conditions.
