THE road from Kuala Belait Port leading to Lumut will be temporarily closed this weekend to allow for the transportation of two heavy vessels to Total E&P Borneo BV's Onshore Processing Plant.

According to HSE Superintendent at Technip Far East Hj Kamsani Nickman, the road closure would only be affected around the movement of the two trailers transporting the vessels on Saturday and Sunday beginning from 11pm to 5am.

The trailers are about 40 metres long, and will be escorted by the Royal Brunei Police Force, who will also have traffic personnel stationed along the route to prevent any mishaps.

Hj Kamsani also informed that the trailers will be travelling between 15 to 20 kilometers per hour, and will stop under adverse weather conditions.

The vessel's route begins at the Kuala Belait port, travelling through Jln Sungai to Jln Singa Menteri, passing through the roundabout with a teapot, before exiting onto the highway through the Mumong roundabout near the National Housing Scheme in Panaga.

The trailers will then use the Seria bypass to reach Lumut.
