Religious activities intensified in Belait
RELIGIOUS fervour continued across Belait yesterday, with Khatam Al-Quran, Tadarus and donation ceremonies hosted by schools and government agencies.
The Belait District Office, led by its Assistant District Officer Hasmiron Hj Md Taib hosted a Tadarus ceremony at the Sg Teraban Mosque yesterday afternoon.
The ceremony was aimed at bringing together government district officials and the community they serve.
Meanwhile the Royal Brunei Police Force's (RBPF) Sport and Welfare Body in Belait and Tutong donated to 22 orphans of policemen in a ceremony at RBPF's Belait Headquarters in Panaga.
Acting District Commanding Officer Superintendent Ariffin Hj Jafaruddin was on hand to present the donations to the orphans, which are aimed at enlivening their celebrations for the upcoming Hari Raya festivities.
A Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was also held for schools in inner rural Belait at the Sg Mau Community Hall, with the Acting Penghulu of Bukit Sawat Hj Abdul Hamid Hj Momin as the guest of honour.
A Tadarus was also held nearby at the Al Mashhor Mosque in Sg Mau organised by the Islamic Da'wah Centre.
