Women’s Council of Brunei continues tadarus event

THE Women’s Council of Brunei Darussalam (MWNBD), along with female members of the Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB), continued its tadarus and khatam Al-Quran activity yesterday.

A press statement obtained from PGGMB said that it was held to enliven and pay respect to the blessed month of Ramadhan.

The recitation of the Quran can also help improve members’ reading skills as well as enhance the sense of unity and also foster closer relations among members, it said.

The ceremony began with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Pg Datin Paduka Hjh Mariam Pg Hj Matarsat, the deputy president of PGGMB who is also the vice president of MWNBD.

This was followed by the recitation of 30 Kuz of the Al-Quran by council members.

About 70 female members from MWNBD and PGGMB took part in the event which was held at the PGGMB building in the capital.
