THE Brunei Arts Enthusiasts Association (PeSTAB) presented donations to 20 orphans and 10 underprivileged individuals in a ceremony yesterday held at Dewan Di Gadong at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS).

The funds were contributed through donations from PeSTAB, private companies and individuals.

The donations were handed over by Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Datin Paduka Hjh Adina Othman.

Speaking at the event, PeSTAB Chairman Serudin Damit said that the community must always support orphans and underprivileged individuals.

“It is hoped that the donations given can help ease the burden of the orphans and underprivileged individuals and help them prepare for Hari Raya (Aidilfitri).”

He also lauded PeSTAB members and other benefactors for collecting the donations.

Also present was PeSTAB advisor Pg Hjh Maskuin Pg Hj Mohammad, members of Persatuan-Persatuan Asterawani, Persatuan 3P, Persatuan Putraseni, Kelab Khidmat and Qasidah Pusat Belia (KHIDMAT). The ceremony also saw the recitation of verses from the Al-Quran by Major (Rtd) Harlip Hj Basar followed by a mass Tahlil ceremony and Sungkai.
