Shooting for a good cause, ASEAN photo contest beckons locals

THE ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity is welcoming Bruneians to participate in its ‘Third ASEAN Zooming in on Biodiversity Photo Contest’.

The competition themed ‘One ASEAN, One Biodiversity’ hopes to promote Southeast Asia’s biodiversity.

It also hopes to stop the continuous destruction of the region’s ecology while demonstrating that all ASEAN member states are linked through biodiversity.

Applicants from the sultanate will competing against participants from fellow ASEAN countries.

Those interested can log on to the website to download the official entry form.

Photo entries must not be digitally altered or enhanced in any way, with the exception of simple cropping.

Photos that have been entered in any other competitions are also not allowed.

Entries will be assessed based on four criteria.

Forty per cent will be judged on the relevance to the theme and 60 per cent on composition, creativity and technical excellence.

Cash prizes will be handed out to the top three winners.

The winning photos will be published in the ASEAN Biodiversity Magazine and other international publications, as well as the ACB website.

The photos will also be featured in an exhibit.

The closing date for registration is on Monday, Aug 31, 2015.
