Murder case in KB adjourned

THE Kuala Belait murder case was adjourned yesterday for a further mention on July 1 at the Magistrates’ Court.
Defendant Muhammad Zulkifli Abdul Jalil, 27, is charged with the murder of 43-year-old Ispawi Idris at a house in RPN Pandan 7, Kuala Belait on May 20.
The charge carries the death penalty.
Muhammad Zulkifli was initially charged together with co-accused Hakimi Rizal Abdullah @ Eyan Anak Beritin.
However, Hakimi was found dead on June 2 due to “unnatural causes”.
At the time, the deceased was being remanded at the Central Police Station for further investigation.
The prosecution indicated that an inquest into the death shall be held once investigations into that case is completed.
