A MAN charged with threatening to share indecent photos of a woman was released yesterday on a $5,000 court bail pending the investigation into the case.

The court document submitted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Pg Norsuzanawati Pg Hj Abas states that on June 23, the defendant 26-year-old Mohd Khairulanwar Md Yunus was charged with committing criminal intimidation on 28- year-old woman, Miss X, by sending her indecent photographs of herself through Whatsapp and threatening to share these photos with the public.

The charge carries an imprisonment term of up to three years in jail and unspecified amount in fines.

No pleas were taken from the defendant during the proceedings yesterday.

The prosecution sought for a one month adjournment to facilitate investigation. The prosecution did not object for Mohd Khairulanwar to be released on $5,000 bail and one local surety with conditions to report to the Women and Children Abuse Investigation Unit starting from July 9.
