Masjid Setia Ali receives PMO contributions

MASJID Setia Ali in Muara town yesterday received contributions donated by personnel and staff from three departments under the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The State Judiciary Department, E-Government National Centre (EGNC) and Public Service Commission (SPA) teamed up to donate to the mosque a new air-conditioner, a water compressor, 10 sets of rihal (Al-Quran stands) and a small amount of money.

The contributions to the mosque represents part of the PMO’s annual Ramadhan donation ceremony which follows its  tadarus and tahlil activities nationwide.

The contributions were presented by Acting Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Salim Hj Besar.

The imam of Masjid Setia Ali Pg Hj Rusman Pg Hj Shahbudin was on hand to receive the contributions.

The Setia Ali Mosque was officially opened by the late Sultan Hj Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien on June 8, 1962.

It was constructed on 2.59 acres of land, costing an estimated $250,000.
