Saudi Imam invited to lead ‘terawih’

THE Mosque Affairs Department under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) invited an imam from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to lead the mass terawih prayers and tadarus ceremonies in several mosques throughout the country for this month of Ramadhan.

Imam Ahmad Abdul Rahman bin Osman led as imam. Last Friday night, he led the terawih prayers at Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital and Saturday night at Jame’ Asr’ Hassanil Bolkiah in Kg Kiarong.
Tonight, the Imam is expected to lead the congregants at Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque in Serusop. According to a statement from an official from the department, Imam Ahmad Abdul Rahman bin Osman will lead terawih prayers at different mosques throughout the country every night until the end of June, which is until 14 Ramadhan 14.
Other mosques included in the schedule are Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Tutong, Perpindahan Lambak Kanan Mosque, Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque in Kg Sengkurong, Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque in Kuala Belait, Masjid Utama Mohammad Salleh in Bangar town, Jubli Perak Sultan Hj Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kg Jangsak, Masjid Lambak Berakas and Setia Ali Mosque in Muara town.
