School hours, museum operations for Ramadhan

THE ministry of education yesterday announced the changes in school hours for Ramadhan for primary and secondary schools as well as upper-sixth form centres.

The ministry, in a press statement issued yesterday, announced that primary schools in the morning session will begin their classes from 7.45am to 11.40am and for schools that have two sessions, the afternoon session will begin from 12pm until 3.55pm.

Meanwhile, secondary schools and colleges, morning session will be from 7.30am to 11.50am, while the afternoon session will be held from 12pm to 4pm.

The Museums Department also announced its Ramadhan hours yesterday.

In its press statement, the department announced that exhibition halls of the Malay Technology Museum, Royal Regalia Building, Merimbun Lake Heritage Park in Tutong and the Bandar Seri Begawan Royal Wharf Art Gallery will be closed on the first day of Ramadhan 1436/2015.

During the fasting month, the museums will operate daily from 9am to 3pm on Saturdays to Thursdays. However, museums will only open from 9am to 12pm on Fridays.

The Brunei Museum on Jln Kota Batu is temporarily closed for general building maintenance and will be opened once the maintenance work is cleared, stated the Brunei Museums Department.
