MUIB builds five terraced houses
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
THE Brunei Islamic Religious Council’s (MUIB) investment arm is building five terraced houses at Kampung Rimba that will be rented out to companies and government agencies.
The houses - valued at $514, 250 - are built under MUIB’s Badan Tanmiah Harta, which develops properties for the Muslim community in Brunei.
The council said the double-storey terraced houses, with a land area of 0.28 acres, commenced work in May this year and is expected to be completed by next May.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pg Dato Paduka Hj Bahrom Pg Hj Bahar led the foundation laying for the housing units yesterday.
Each unit has a floor space of about 162.4 square metres including three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen, a storeroom and a living room.
Sincere Furnishing Sdn Bhd was appointed as contractor of the project, its second project with Badan Tanmiah Harta.
Director of Sincere Furnishing Sdn Bhd Yong Key Kuok said the construction process would take about 12 months as they are adopting the “concrete formwork system”, which is more convenient compared to the traditional conventional brick-layering method.
