Be mentally prepared for Ramadhan

MENTAL preparation before Ramadhan is crucial and we must rectify the intention of our fasting, said a speaker from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) at a religious talk held by the Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday.

The religious lecture, entitled ‘Ramadhan Oh Ramadhan Kehadiranmu Dinanti’, touched on the benefits of the holy month and reminded the audience of their duties and roles as Muslims during the month.

“We must know the real intention of fasting,” said Ustaz Adi Asmat Lamat.

“As Muslims, we must not only fast but we must also perform our prayers,” he said, noting that some Muslims might not be performing their five daily prayers.

The lecturer from UNISSA went on to remind participants to always do good deeds.

“We should consider this month an opportunity. We should perform as many acts of worship as we can, do the deeds which Allah Ta’ala likes, and deem this month an opportunity for earning the next world,” said Ustaz Adi Asmat.

Present at the religious talk was the Minister of Health Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Adanan Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Hj Md Yusof.

Also present was the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, Hjh Siti Mariam Hj Mohd Jaafar, senior officials and staff of the Ministry of Health.
