FORTY-NINE students from Intitut Teknologi Brunei (ITB) were formally admitted to the Brunei Association of Surveyors, Engineers and Architects (PUJA) ITB Student Chapter, which was inaugurated yesterday.

The PUJA-ITB Student Chapter is expected to provide a platform for undergraduates to network with experienced, practicing professionals in the field.

Student members will also be able to explore internship opportunities and seek advice on career prospects.

In his welcoming remarks, the Chairman of PUJA Engineering Division, Mohammad Nazri Mohammad Yusof, said that ITB, as the national engineering university, has a crucial role in introducing competent and industry-ready human resources.

He said PUJA would be able to complement ITB’s efforts in attaining such a role with collaboration, especially in the construction industry.

With the establishment of the PUJA-ITB Student Chapter, the student members will be able to participate in engineering conferences, mentorship programmes, annual engineering competitions and school outreach programmes, among others.

The admission letters were handed over to the students by PUJA President Yang Berhormat Hj Zulkipli Hj Abdul Hamid.

YB Hj Zulkipli also handed over the Certificate of Chapter Establishment to ITB Vice-Chancellor Dr Hjh Zohrah Hj Sulaiman yesterday.
