A MAN is facing up to 30 years in jail and 12 strokes of the cane after he was found guilty yesterday for raping a minor four years ago.

During the proceedings yesterday, defendant Hibatul Wafi Mahari, 23, had his bail revoked after presiding Chief Registrar Pg Hjh Rostaina Pg Hj Duraman delivered the guilty verdict.

Deputy public prosecutor Pg Norsuzanawati Pg Hj Abas called a total of 12 witnesses including two expert witnesses during the trial.

The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on June 22.
