Suspect in Seria car theft detained

BELAIT

POLICE have apprehend a 31-year-old suspected of stealing a car in Kampung Pandan, Belait.

The 31-year-old local male was successfully nabbed by Kuala Belait Police Station's Criminal Investigative Department around Jln Sungai Bera in Seria on Saturday, the day after he allegedly committed the crime.

The suspect will now be brought to court to face charges under Section 379 of the Penal Code.

According to Kuala Belait Police Station records, a Nissan Pulsar was reported missing last Friday.

Following reliable public tip-offs, police were able to investigate, identify and locate the suspect in question.

In a show of appreciation for the assistance provided, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) has urged the public to continue providing them valuable information which could assist with investigations.

To mitigate against the risk of car theft, they also advised the public not to leave their vehicles unattended while their engines are still running.
