AN ART competition in conjunction with the 69th birthday celebrations of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, is now accepting entries.

Submissions will be accepted until August 10, not later than 4pm, according to information from the Brunei Darussalam National Archive.

The contest is divided into three categories.

Category A, titled “His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Together with World Leaders”, is open to artists who are Brunei citizens, permanent residents and students of universities, higher learning and vocational institutions in and outside Brunei.

The first prize for the winner in category A is $5,000. The second prize is $1,000 and the third prize is $750. There are three consolation prizes worth $300 each.

Category B, titled “Development and Achievement”, is open to Brunei citizens, permanent residents and students of universities, higher learning and vocational institutions in and outside Brunei. This category is also open to green smartcard holders residing more than one year in Brunei.

The first prize for the winner in this category is $1,500.

Category C, “Towards National Development”, is open to secondary school students up to Sixth Form who are Brunei citizens and permanent residents. The winner will receive $500.

This category is also open to secondary school students up to Sixth Form who are green smartcard holders residing more than one year in Brunei.
