BRITISH Defence Secretary Michael Fallon will be visiting Brunei today in the first UK ministerial visit to the sultanate since British Prime Minister David Cameron formed a new government earlier this month.

The British High Commission in a statement said the defence secretary will be visiting the British Garrison in Seria.

The visit will conclude with a meeting with Deputy Defence Minister of Brunei Dato Paduka Hj Mustappa Hj Sirat.

The visit follows the signing of the Garrison Agreement between His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and the British prime minister at the Chequers Court in Buckinghamshire on February 16, 2015.
