A MAN accused of raping a teenager and her seven-year-old sister was released on a $10,000 bail yesterday pending the next mention of the case at the High Court on June 8.

The 33-year-old defendant, whose name is withheld to protect the victims, is facing one count of raping Miss X, who was 17 years old at the time in February 2007.

He is also charged with two counts of raping Miss Y on two separate occasions on October 11, 2000 and sometime between October and December 2000. Miss Y was seven at the time.

The penalty carries a 30-year jail term for each of the offences. The defendant was given time to consider his pleas.
