BIMP-EAGA meet on transportation

THIS year’s edition of the BIMP-EAGA Transport Cluster Working Group’s Meetings comprising Land Transport, Sea and Air Linkages came to a close at the Ministry of Communications Building, Jalan Menteri Besar, on Thursday.

The May 20 to 21 meeting was attended by 55 member delegates from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Prior to this meeting, member delegates also attended the Convergence Meeting between the BIMP-EAGA Customs, Immigration, Quarantine & Security (CIQS) Working Group and BIMP-EAGA Transport Working Groups at the Rizqun International Hotel on May 19.

Meanwhile, delegates to the BIMP-EAGA Transport Cluster Working Group Meetings were feted at the welcoming dinner at the Tarindak D’seni Restaurant on May 20.

The dinner was hosted by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications, Abdul Mutalib Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Yusof.

A press statement from the Ministry of Communications said that progress had been achieved and some deliverables were already targeted for the 10th Transport Ministers’ meeting due to be held at the end of this year in the Philippines.
