BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
MUSLIMAHS yesterday were urged to build their character in accordance to the morals found in the teachings of the Al-Quran during a talk held to mark the Isra’ Mikraj.
Isra’ Mikraj is celebrated to observe the night journey of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Masjidil Haram to Masjidil Aqsa and his ascension to heaven.
The talk which took place at the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit mosque was organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs to create appreciation of lessons related to women that can be derived from the miraculous journey made by Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The event was attended by members of the Mosque Muslimah nationwide.
Among the most significant lessons of Isra’ Mikraj is knowing the importance of Solat.
Mosque Affairs Officer, Hanafi Hj Zaini in the talk spoke about the importance of solat (daily prayers).
Solat is the spiritual means through which Muslims can ascend to Allah (SWT).
“The routine of prayer will make us better Muslims. The greatest one of all is that it will help us to put our lives into perspective, seeing that all things come from Allah and that it is to Allah that all will return,” he said.
The religious event also aimed to strengthen the relationship and sisterhood among the women as well as to foster the value of community in helping each other to strive in becoming better Muslimahs.
The wife of Acting Permanent Secretary of Religious Affairs, Ustazah Hjh Sarimah Hj Abu Bakar was present as the guest of honour.
