A HUNDRED and fifty staff of the Municipal Board of Kuala Belait and Seria yesterday listened to a special lecture on the importance of prayer in conjunction with Isra' Mikraj.

Ustaz Hj Nazir Hj Othman from the Islamic Da'wah Centre touched upon the "miraculous" journey by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Mekah to Jerusalem, known as Isra', as well as the Prophet's ascension to heaven where he received the order from Allah (SWT) for muslims to perform obligatory prayers five times a day.

"With Allah's mercy the prayers were reduced from 50 times a day to five, known as Mikraj. Isra' Mikraj is a reminder that every hardship will be followed by ease based on the Prophet's experiences through his journey," said Ustaz Hj Nazir.

Chairman of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board Hj Ali Matyassin was the guest of honour at yesterday's talk, held at the discussion room of the Kuala Belait and Seria's Municipal Hall.

The talk was aimed at inspiring and strengthening the Islamic faith and piety amongst staff.
