Be disciplined when on duty, police officers told
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) were told yesterday to always be disciplined when on-duty to ensure their commitment in keeping the country safe is upheld.
This was said by the Assistant Commissioner (ACP) of RBPF Hj Mohamed Don Hj Harith during promotion ceremony for 122 police officers yesterday.
In his speech, the assistant commissioner highlighted that there are still police members who have committed offenses that violate disciplines, such as being absent from duty without any reason and police members working carelessly, among others.
“These issues need to be openly dealt with,” Hj Mohamed Don stressed.
He told the promoted police officers to be more disciplined and committed in carrying out their duties.
“There will be more responsibilities for the promoted members, which is why you must become the perfect example to the others,” he said.
Hj Mohamed Don suggested that cooperation of staff and officers from all levels in the Operations Department under RBPF is needed to ensure the offenses are avoided.
This, he added, is to ensure that the police officers fulfill their task in ensuring the Sultanate’s safety.
Hj Mohamed Don also highlighted that the world is facing more criminal activities, ranging from cross-border crimes, terrorisms, human trafficking and armed robbery to poaching and illegal logging.
“We need the formations and units under the Operation Department to produce the best way to tackle crimes that’s taken place in this country,” he said.
“These irresponsible criminals will continue to find weaknesses and manipulate the country for personal gain, which is why we need to strategise well and deliver effective operations,” he said.
As a step in curbing criminal activities in the country, the assistant commissioner suggested increased police operations and collaborate with all government agencies to curb all criminal activities in the country.
During the ceremony held at the RBPF headquarters in Gadong yesterday, the assistant commissioner handed over the promotion letter to the promoting police officers.
Accompanying the assistant commissioner was the Senior Superintendent (SUPT) Deputy Director of Operations, Pg Hj Muhammad Pg Hj Metali.
