He expressed satisfaction with the construction of the two-storey building, which sits atop a two-acre site adjacent to the existing Religious Affairs Department building.

The new building will house several sections under the Religious Affairs Department, namely the Administration Section; Mosque Affairs Section; Islamic Studies Section; Religious Enforcement Section; Aqidah Control Section; Family Advice Services Section; Halal Food Control Section; Zakat Section; and the Publication and Control Section.

The minister said the old building would continue to be used for future religious programmes and to accommodate other services and activities for the public. Syarikat Amalan Pg Sabariah was appointed as the main contractor of the project.
