MoH celebrates RIPAS 30th year

THE Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital and the opening of the Women and Children centre by organising a ‘bicyclethon’ and a charity carnival.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Adanan Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Hj Md Yusof, the Minister of Health took part in the 20 kilometre bicyclethon from RIPAS hospital to the charity carnival at the ministry building in Berakas.
Over 50 health officers, staff and family member accompanied the minister on his bicycle ride.
According to MoH, the charity carnival was a fundraiser for the Patients Assistance Charity Fund under the MoH to assist the unprivileged patients and families, in their efforts to improve the quality of life in ensuring holistic care.
Meanwhile, the expedition was aimed to raise funds to help patients who are unable to afford their medical treatment, in terms of socio-economic development.
The ministry said that medical treatment does not only rely on drugs as a number of patients referred by MoH specialist also rely on medical equipments to continue their treatment at home.
