Sultan to attend royal banquet in Perak
KUALA KANGSAR, PERAK
HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is expected to attend the Royal Banquet in conjunction with the coronation of Perak’s 35th Sultan at the Banquet Hall Istana Iskandariah, Kuala Kangsar, Perak today.
The monarch is expected to be accompanied by Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha to the banquet. Fifty-eight-year old Sultan Nazrin Muizuddin Shah was coronated/ installed as the 35th ruler of Perak on Wednesday (May 6), nearly a year after the passing of his father Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah on May 28 2014.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, witnessed the ceremony as the monarch’s personal representative.
Their Majesties will join Malaysian royals/state leaders, prominent government figures and distinguished guests at the palace’s banquet hall.
Ceremonies for the sultan’s coronation began on May 3 and will end on May 17, with a closing ceremony at the Istana Iskandariah.
The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizuddin Shah and Raja Permaisuri Tuanku Zara Salim yesterday visited the tomb of Tok Temong in Kati here in conjunction with the Ruler’s enthronement ceremony as the Sultan of Perak XXXV.
