I Love Brunei Darussalam essay writing competition open

THE Brunei Times welcomes the public to enter its English Language Essay Writing Competition organised in conjunction with the 31st National Day Celebrations.
Carrying the theme ‘Securing Brunei’s Prosperity’, The Brunei Times would like to give opportunity for the public to express their love and patriotism towards His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the nation through the competition.
It also allows participants to show their appreciation, commitment and pride to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the country.
The competition has two categories for the aspiring writers.
The “Open Category”, for aspiring writers aged 21 and above, has “Putting Brunei on the World Map of Business” as its topic which should be explored in an essay of not more than 2,000 words.
For the “Youth Category”, those interested to join should be below 20 years old and will have to write on “Why I Want to Learn Entrepreneurial Skills Now” with a maximum word count of 800.
Interested participants can sign up and register for the essay competition by making an account through _The Brunei Times _website, www.bt.com.bn.
After registration, potential participants can submit and save their entry on the website itself through the online application system.
Three winners will be chosen for each category.
First prize winner for the “Open Category” will receive a cash prize of B$4000, two return air tickets to Bali, Denpasar, electronic devices and a crystal trophy.
The second and third placers will also be awarded with cash prizes, air tickets, electronic items and trophies.
Prizes for “Youth Category” will include cash prizes worth B$500 to B$1500, vouchers from The Empire Hotel, electronic devices and crystal trophies.
