Rimba school initiatives win praise from minister

THE Minister of Education Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Hj Awg Abu Bakar Hj Apong yesterday visited Rimba Primary School I to observe the school’s initiatives and efforts in further enhancing the school’s achievements.

According to a statement by the ministry yesterday, the school is one of the schools that have their Year six students getting accepted into Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (Maktab Duli).

Upon the minister and his delegation’s arrival in the school, the principal, Aji Hj Ahmad welcomed and briefed the delegation of the school’s profile and Primary School Assessment (PSR) results.

Since 2015, the school has implemented programmes in hope of raising the PSR achievements in the school, such as: morning interventions, team teaching and Friday classes.

The minister praised the school’s efforts in further improving the students’ achievements and performance, especially through the positive impact of the effective communication between educators.

The school currently has 27 educators and 461 students, in which 85 pupils are sitting in Year 6.

Present during the visit was the Deputy Minister of Education, Dato Seri Setia Hj Yusoff Ismail, along with the Permanent Secretary, the Director of Curriculum Development Department (CDD) and other education officers. –Abdul Aziz Ismail
