Application open for UNESCO programme

THE Ministry of Education (MoE) is inviting interested young Bruneians to participate in a career programme organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
The Young Professional Programme 2015 is aimed at attracting young talented professionals to gain work experience at UNESCO which is based in Paris, France.
In a press statement, MoE said it is inviting interested and suitable candidates to apply for the programme, based on the following criteria: Applicants must be 1) Nationals of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 2) Maximum 32 years of age as at December 31, 2015, born in 1983 and above, and 3) Hold an advanced university degree or Masters degree preferably in education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, communciation and information, external relations, legal affairs, and financial management.
Interested candidates are required to submit his/her curriculum vitae including contact details and email address by June 15, 2015 to the Head of International Affairs Unit, Ministry of Education, Block A, 2nd floor, Old Airport Road, Berakas BB3510, Brunei Darussalam.
Selected candidates will be notified and will undergo interview processes conducted by UNESCO personnel. Successful candidates will be appointed as UNESCO staff members on an initial one-year fixed term contract at P1/P2 level.
“During the first 12 months of employment, Young Professionals will be given the opportunity to expand their knowledge of UNESCO and the UN System, and acquire the relevant skills related to UNESCO’s fields of competence and its administration,” the statement added.
