THE Brunei Shell Joint Venture Companies (BSJV) held an emblem night yesterday to honour 328 of its employees across the BSJV for their years of long service and dedication.

Recipients from Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP), Brunei LNG (BLNG) and Brunei Shell Marketing (BSM) received their long service awards during the BSJV Emblem Night 2014 held at The Empire Hotel.

Eight recipients received their 40-year service emblem, 72 employees received 35-year service awards while 130 received their 30-year service awards and another 118 achieved the 25-year milestone.

In his speech, the Managing Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) Andrew Faulkner conveyed his appreciation to the recipients. “Throughout my own 33 years of career in Shell, this is the first time I have witnessed more than 300 employees celebrating milestones between 25 to 40 years at the same time,” he said. “It sends a powerful message of the commitment and loyalty of BSJV staff.”

He further said that having a large number of long-serving employees reinforces high professionalism and respect for the companies and the country.

“It also embodies sustainability and continued progress as you will be able to impart your knowledge to the younger generation and nurture them,” said the managing director.

A recipient of the 40-year service emblem, Suleiman Talip delivered a speech of thanks on behalf of the emblem recipients.

Presenting the 40-year service awards to the recipients was the Deputy Minister of Finance and a member of the BSJV’s Board of Directors, Dato Paduka Hj Bahrin Abdullah.

Meanwhile the 35 years, 30 years and 25 years awards were given to the employees of the respective companies by their respective managing directors.

Also in attendance at the event were members of the Board of Directors of BSJV, senior government officials and members of the leadership teams across BSJV. The BSJV Emblem Night is an annual long-tradition event with the objective to recognize and appreciate the long-service employees for their enduring loyalty, hard work and dedication to the companies.
