ISB raises money for poor Malaysian school children
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
STUDENTS at the International School Brunei (ISB) raised a total of $773 yesterday to help several poor children in Ulu Baram, Malaysia go to school.
ISB raised the money by holding various events, including fun activities for its students, for the needy children of Penan to get an education.
One of the beneficiaries is Doris, who lost her father that forced her to stop schooling since her mother, Catherine, was unable to afford her education.
ISB students took action to support not only Doris but her siblings as well to continue their education.
According to a statement by ISB, the money raised from the events will be going to a community-based project to help buy and transport goods such as clothing, books, and stationeries, among others, for some schools and students in Malaysia.
The purchases will be sent to the needy children at the Long San Primary and Secondary schools soon. But ISB already sent some assistance to them back in January.
