LCB braces for inaugural charity run
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
LAKSAMANA College of Business (LCB) will be holding its first ever Charity Run on June 14, to raise funds for the centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA).
Chief Operating Officer of LCB, Sivarajah Subramaniam said that the main objective of the event is to give back to society.
“It’s always been the college’s philosophy and vision to give back to the society in Brunei.”
“I think the student council is doing a great job organising the event – it’s a combination of students from different classes so it’s good because it’s teamwork and it’s one big project bringing people together.”
Subramaniam added that organising the event will be a good learning curve for the students and the experience can help them in the future.
“I hope the public will come and support because it’s organised by students and it’s also for a good cause.”
Event Manager of the charity run, Nurul Izyan Anver said that 16 committee members are involved in organising the event.
“We chose to raise funds for the centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA) because we want to support them. We will be donating 30 per cent of the registration fees to the centre.”
“We’re hoping to have more than 300 participants and to raise more than $5000,” added Izyan.
Apart from that, the college will also be holding a carnival at the same venue from June 13-14.
“We have several activities lined up for it including a bazaar and reptile show. There will also be a haunted house and an LCB excitement booth with more activities,” she said.
There are five categories for the run open to participants.
