Brunei Youth Council plans June ‘Colour Run’ for SMARTER
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
THE Brunei Youth Council has proposed a “Colour Run” slated for June 7 to raise money for the Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER).
Themed, “Dream with Colours, Live with Colours, Run with Colours”, the five kilometre fun run will feature a number of checkpoints where participants will be sprayed with coloured powders, similar to the Color Run held in United States.
The planned route is around the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
Registration will be open from April 17 to May 7, and participants are required to pay the $30 entry fee between May 1 and 3.
Each participant will receive a kit consisting of a t-shirt, medal, a pair of sunglasses and a bib.
The coloured powder that will be used during the run is made from food-grade cornstarch, which us 100 per cent biodegradable and non-toxic.
Once the run is over, a dedicated water truck will be on hand to clean away any residue left from the powders.
The Brunei Youth Council said the aim of the run was to raise money for SMARTER as well as promote positivity and harmony among the community.
The “Colour Run” was a concept made popular by the official Color Run crew in the United States, which is also known as the “Happiest 5k On The Planet.” More details on the fun run will be released on Friday.
