THE Culture and Arts Division will be holding a five-day Cultural Festival at the Ruang Legar (Atrium) of the Airport Mall, Berakas, from April 14-18.
The festival is organised in collaboration with the Museums Department, Brunei History Centre and the Language and Literature Bureau under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) to expand the network in heritage and culture.
According to a press statement by the MCYS, the festival hopes to expose the youth to Brunei’s heritage.
It also hopes to raise awareness on the importance of maintaining and preserving the country’s culture.
Throughout the five days, the public will be invited to learn more about the seven Malay ethnic groups in Brunei – Belait, Bisaya, Dusun, Kedayan, Murut and Tutong.
Various activities, such as cultural shows, introduction and appreciation of the beauty of traditional practices, presentations on the ethnic groups and exhibitions showcasing the nation’s culture, will also be held.
