FOUR songs written to commemorate the royal wedding are now available for public listening and download through the Information Department’s official royal wedding website royalwedding.information.gov.bn.

An official involved in the production of the songs told The Brunei Times that they were written as a sign of gratitude and joy felt by the people during the auspicious occasion.

The official said the songs when played over the local radio and television channels will help further enliven the wedding between His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Dk Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah Pg Hj Bolkiah.

Four songs were compiled into an album called “Tautan Kasih Pengantin Diraja”.

The album includes extended and edited versions of songs “Tautan Sehati Sejiwa” and “Selamat Pengantin Diraja”.

The remaining two titles are “Adai-adaina Laila Cinta Pengantin Diraja” and “Semarak Kasih”.

The album features singers such as the Nur Firdaus group and other local artists including Putri Norizah Ibnor Riza.

Songwriters include Pg Hj Khairul Amilin Pg Hj Yahya, Director of the Language and Literature Bureau Hjh Aminah Hj Momin and Dato Paduka Hj Aliddin Hj Othman.

All of the four songs were written in a poetic form, entailing the love story and the beauty of the royal couple as they proceed with their wedding ceremonies taking place until April 15.

All four songs also conveyed well wishes for the royal couple.

HRH Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Dk Raabi’atul Adawiyyah will be exchanging vows of solemnisation in today’s Majlis Istiadat Akad Nikah at Masjid Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital.
