Car chase culprit remanded

AN Indonesian man was put on remand yesterday pending investigation over allegations of customs related offence.

The defendant Moh Nawawi, 27, was brought to court yesterday to face a charge of voluntarily obstructing two police officers from carrying out their duties on April 6 at around the vicinity of Jalan Gadong, Liang Toon roundabout.

During the proceedings yesterday, prosecuting officer Muhammad Aiman Adri Ahmad Zakaria told the court that investigation are still in the preliminary stages and sought for the defendant to be further remanded at the Central Police Station.

The presiding magistrate Azrimah Hj Abd Rahman granted the remand application and scheduled for a further mention of the case to be heard this Saturday.
