THE body of a 13-year-old boy was found this morning in Sungkai Sangkar after he was reported missing two days ago.

The victim was believed to have drowned after his boat capsized in the river.

A spokesperson for the Royal Brunei Police Force said family members found the body five metres from the river banks at 6.15am yesterday morning.

The deceased was then brought to the mortuary to be prepared for burial.

Authorities had been searching for the boy since Sunday when a distress call was made to the police hotline at 1.45pm. The boy was reportedly in the boat alone when it capsized.

Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
