THE Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) donated $126, 228 to several organisations yesterday.

The donation, held at the YSHHB complex, was meant for charity as part of the thrusts of the YSHHB established by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddien Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

Handing the donation was Yayasan Board of Director and Ministry of Development Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi Hj Osman.

Tabung Kemanusian Bencana Banjir Malaysia (TKBBM) received a total $50,000.

Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Hj Hazair Hj Abdullah received the donation, which was intended for the Malaysian flood victims.

SMARTER Brunei, an association run by parents and family members of autistic individuals, also got $50,000, YSHHB said in a statement.

The money would help build five classrooms for the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Centre in Kg Mata-Mata. It would also be used to support the needs of autistic individuals.

The Narcotics Control Bureau’s (NCB) Pusat Al-Islah (PAI) also received a total of $4,578 from YSHHB.

The donation will be used to pay for residents’ fees for O-Level examinations in November 2016, and also to support the vocational skill educational fees for 2015-2016 session.

The YSHHB also donated $42,700 to the Mosque Takmir committee members of Maktab Teknik Sultan Saiful Rijal (MTSSR).

The Faculty of Science of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) also received a total $14,000 in educational assistance from the YSHHB, while the Persatuan Kemajuan Insan (KESAN) got $4,950.
