Brunei, Vietnam meet to bolster education

THE Deputy Minister of Education, Dato Seri Setia Hj Yusoff Hj Ismail, left the Sultanate for Hanoi, Vietnam to attend the first Joint-Working Group Meeting between Brunei’s Ministry of Education (MoE) and Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training.
A press release issued by the MoE yesterday said the meeting is slated to take place today and tomorrow.
It will serve as a platform for discussions on a number of collaborative project proposals aimed to bring about mutual benefits to both countries.
Potential areas of cooperation include projects on English Language, Mathematics, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, among others.
During the working visit, the Deputy Minister of Education will also be visiting two educational institutions to learn, discuss and exchange ideas and experiences about the good practices that would help promote quality education and educational standards in both countries.
The Joint-Working Group meeting is the outcome of the Memorandum of Understanding that was signed by both countries in the Sultanate on April 9, 2014.
Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE Dr Hj Junaidi Hj Abd Rahman, Senior Special Duties Officer Hjh Anis Faudzulani Hj Dzulkiflee and the Head of Higher Education, as well as officers from the MoE, are among the Ministry’s delegates to Hanoi.
