Royal Brunei Navy welcomes new Fleet Commander

A HANDOVER ceremony for the post of Fleet Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was held yesterday at the Muara Naval Base.

Lieutenant Colonel (L) Pengiran Mohammad Pengiran Hj Damit officially took over from Colonel (L) Hj Yusuf Masron as the new Fleet Commander.

Upon arrival at the Jetty Bravo, the Fleet Commander received the General Salute and inspected the parade comprising of Fleet personnel led by the parade commander, Cpt (L) Hj Abd Hafiz Mubarak Hj Rusli.

The event began with the recital of Surah Al–Fatihah led by Ustaz Muhammad Rafiuddin Hj Muhammad Ali, Religious Staff of RBN, followed by a speech delivered by outgoing Fleet Commander Colonel (L) Haji Yusuf Masron.

The event continued with the signing of documents by the outgoing and new Fleet Commanders, marking the formal handover of duties.

After the signing of the documents, the new Fleet Commander, Lieutenant Colonel (L) Pg Mohammad Pg Hj Damit, received the General Salute and inspected the parade.

Colonel (L) Hj Yusuf Masron assumed command of the Fleet this February 3 until the date of the handover ceremony.

Also present during the ceremony were senior officers, officers and men of the RBN.
