RBLF Commander gets Maroon Beret in M’sia, RBN Commander visits S’pore

THE Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) Brigadier-General Pengiran Dato Paduka Aminan Pengiran Hj Mahmud yesterday received the Maroon Beret and Honourary Airborne Wing of the 10th Paratrooper Brigade (10th PARA) by the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), according to Malaysian news reports.
Bernama reported that ATM Army Chief General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor presented the Beret and Airborne Wing at the Dataran Mindef.
The Maroon Beret and Airborne Wing are the highest form of recognition from the army’s elite para-brigade awarded to military and government leaders, said Bernama in its report.
Brigadier-General Pg Dato Paduka Aminan was on official visit to the country to strengthen military cooperation and ties between RBLF and ATM.
During his visit, he made a courtesy call on Malaysian Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein and ATM Chief General Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin.
Meanwhile, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz Hj Mohammad Tamit is currently in Singapore for a three-day farewell visit, Channel News Asia reported yesterday.
Following an inspection of a Guard of Honour, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz had called on Singaporean Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng and Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral Lai Chung Han.
He also called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen.
Singapore’s Ministry of Defence said the visit underscores the close and long-standing bilateral defence ties between Singapore and Brunei. The Republic of Singapore Navy and RBN engage in a wide range of interactions, which include bilateral exercises, professional exchanges and cross-attendance of courses.
First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz will be in Singapore until today.
