MUSLIMS across the country performed mass Sunat Hajat prayers yesterday evening, seeking Allah SWT’s protection and safety from disasters and calamity for the region.

At the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque in Kg Kiarong, Religious Affairs Minister Yang Berhormat Pg Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad Pg Hj Abdul Rahman attended the prayers alongside Deputy Religious Affairs Minister Pg Dato Paduka Hj Bahrom Pg Hj Bahar and other ministry officials.

Led by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Hj Mustafa Hj Murat, the Sunat Hajat prayers were performed after the Maghrib prayers in congregation.

Afterwards, the imam supplicated to Allah SWT for protection and safety from disasters and calamity for Brunei and its neighbouring countries.

Sunat Hajat prayers also took place in mosques, suraus and prayer halls nationwide.
