Association for retired police elects office bearers
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
THE Retired Royal Brunei Police Force Association (POLSARA) has re-elected Pg Dato Paduka Hj Salim Pg Hj Wahid as president for a second term.
In a speech during the association’s annual general meeting yesterday, Pg Dato Hj Salim urged members to offer their full support to POLSARA.
“Our association is like a house built upon the stilts of cooperation. Here we seek shelter from heat and rain to map out the future of POLSARA,” he said.
“But let us now think together whether our association should continue or not. If we continue, then what steps and actions should we take to achieve the road towards success and excellence?”
On the sidelines of the meeting, the re-elected president said he hoped the newly-elected office bearers can share their input to help POLSARA grow.
“Understand that we are not a business association, we are an association that takes care of the welfare of our members.”
“What matters most for POLSARA’s new members is to work together. We must change our attitude and strive towards success,” he added.
Prior to his retirement, Pg Dato Hj Salim was head of the Royal Brunei Police Force’s Public Relations Department.
The meeting yesterday also saw Hj Murad Hj Abd Hadi succeeding Hj Ahmad Besar Hj Salleh as the deputy president of POLSARA.
A member since 2002, Secretary-general Hj Abd Ghani Hj Tangah stepped down from his post citing his health condition. He was succeeded by POLSARA Chairman of Temburong Hj Abd Halim Hj Ahmad.
Present to oversee the meeting was former Police Commissioner Pehin Orang Kaya Pendekar Alam Dato Paduka Seri Hj Hasrin Dato Paduka Hj Sabtu and over 40 POLSARA members.
