LAND owners in Brunei Darussalam are urged to pay their annual land taxes, and are also required to pay their outstanding annual taxes, according to a statement by the state broadcaster on Radio Televisyen Brunei.

Failure to do so will allow the Land Department to take legal action under Section 18 Chapter 40 of the Land act; whereby the government has the rights to seize and sell any moveable property on the land, and also to take back and sell their land.

Annual land tax payment and outstanding annual taxes may be paid according to the district where their lands are located mainly at the Brunei-Muara Land Office, Tutong Land Office, Temburong Land Office and the Kuala Belait Land Office at the stipulated payment times.

Mondays to Thursdays are from 8am to 11 am and from 1:45pm to 3pm, while on Saturdays are from 8am to 10am, according to the statement.
